That's most of what we do here. Coaches at the Motorcoach Resort don't move much — which is easy on the slides and the leveling jacks, and hard on nearly everything else.
We're an approved vendor at the resort, and we come to your site. A 45-foot coach shouldn't have to go anywhere to get a water heater looked at.
Getting to your coach
The gate process here is real, and it works in your favor — it's the reason the resort stays the way it is.
When we arrive, we give the guard your site number and your name. They check the list, check the plate on the truck, and bring us through. We're on the approved vendor list and carry a resort-issued pass, so this is routine rather than a negotiation.
What it means for you: no meeting us at the entrance, no walking down to sign anyone in. Give us your site number when you book and we'll be at the coach.
What we see on coaches that sit
Sitting is its own kind of wear. The failures here cluster differently than at a park full of rigs coming and going:
- Batteries. The most common call. A coach that sits between visits drains, and a bank that's been low for months often won't come back
- Water heaters. Hydronic systems, traditional gas, gas/electric — all of them. This is the second call we get most
- Refrigerators. Cooling units that were fine when you left and aren't when you return
- Steps. They seize. Mechanisms that don't cycle for months stop cycling
- Plumbing leaks. Seals dry out in desert air whether or not anyone's using the water
- Air conditioning. In summer these run near-continuously, and duty cycle is what kills capacitors and fan motors. More on RV A/C repair →
What we don't see much of here: slides and leveling problems. Your coach isn't moving, so the systems that fail from travel mostly don't.
The systems most mobile techs can't touch
High-end diesel coaches run equipment that requires factory training, and a lot of mobile techs simply aren't certified on it.
Steve is a Truma Level III Certified Technician and Dealer — listed on Truma's own technician locator, which is how a fair number of coach owners find us. He's Aqua-Hot certified, and services Oasis hydronic systems, the setup in most Newmar coaches.
We're not aware of another mobile Truma-certified tech within about 250 miles. We take calls from California, Arizona and Utah on that basis.
If you're not in town
Plenty of work here happens without the owner present. If you're arriving in three weeks and want the coach checked over before you get in, tell us — we'll work out access with you and the resort, and you can arrive to a coach that runs.
Common questions
Do I need to be at the coach?
Not always. If access is sorted and you can describe what's wrong, a lot of jobs get done while you're elsewhere.
Can you actually service Truma and hydronic systems?
Yes — Truma Level III Certified Technician and Dealer, Aqua-Hot certified, and we service Oasis hydronic systems. And we come to the coach rather than asking you to move it.
Do you do engine or chassis work?
No. We're one hundred percent “house side” — everything that makes the coach livable. For engine, brakes or tires we'll point you to a shop we trust.
My coach is under warranty. Does that change anything?
Usually not, and often we can do it at your site instead of a dealer's lot. How warranty work goes →
How fast can you get here?
Often same or next day. In peak summer, coaches with no working A/C go first.
