Three kinds of warranty — and most owners only know about one
This is where money gets left on the table. Tell us what failed and we'll tell you which warranty applies, often before we're off the phone.
1. Manufacturer (coach) warranty
From whoever built the RV — Jayco, Grand Design, Brinkley, Forest River, Keystone, Thor, Winnebago, Alliance, Newmar, Tiffin and the rest. Usually covers structure and factory workmanship for a defined period from purchase.
What we'll need: VIN, purchase date, selling dealer.
2. Component & appliance warranty — the one people forget
Almost every appliance in your RV carries its own warranty from its own manufacturer, separate from the coach warranty and frequently running longer. Truma, Dometic, Furrion, Lippert, Suburban, Norcold, Everchill, Girard, Aqua-Hot and Atwood each warrant their own equipment.
What we'll need: the model and serial number off the appliance. We can pull it if you can't reach it.
3. Extended warranties & service contracts
Coverage sold at purchase or bought later from a third-party administrator. These have specific rules: most require authorization before work begins, and repairs done without approval usually aren't reimbursed. We make that call with you before turning any wrenches.
What we'll need: contract number and administrator name.
How warranty work actually goes with us
- You call or text with what failed and the details above
- We identify the coverage — sometimes it's not the one you assumed, and occasionally two apply
- We get authorization first where the plan requires it, so nothing gets denied on a technicality
- We repair it at your site — no tow, no drop-off, no six-week hole in your season
- We document it properly — cause, concern, correction, part numbers, photos. The format claims administrators accept, which is most of why claims get paid
- We handle parts return when the manufacturer requires the failed unit back
Billing works differently depending on who's covering the repair — some manufacturers pay us directly, others reimburse you. We'll tell you which applies to your claim before we begin.
Straight talk about warranty claims
- Not every claim is approved. We'll give you our honest read before we start
- Some manufacturers still insist on their own dealer network. If yours does, we'll tell you instead of wasting your time
- Diagnosis isn't always covered if the claim is ultimately denied
- Reimbursement takes what it takes. Anyone promising fast payment is guessing
- Maintenance items and wear are almost never covered, whichever plan you hold
Certified where it counts
Warranty work often requires factory certification — one more reason it's hard to find someone mobile who can do it. See all certifications →
Common questions
Does my RV warranty cover mobile repair?
Often yes — many manufacturers and administrators authorize independent and mobile technicians, though some restrict work to their own dealers. Tell us who holds your coverage and we'll find out before you commit to anything.
My coach warranty expired. Am I out of luck?
Frequently not. Appliance and component warranties are separate and often run longer. It's worth ten minutes to check — we do it for free.
What if the claim is denied?
You'll know the risk before we start, and you'll get a clear repair-or-wait recommendation either way.
